An established organization is expanding its Global Direct Sourcing team with a newly-created role.

Operating on a global level, collaborating cross-functionally, and engaging in strategic decision-making to secure sustainable and competitive supply and product quality, the Senior Category Manager plays a pivotal role in a versatile mission. 

IHRE AUFGABEN

  • Global Project Support: Assist with major projects worldwide focusing on sourcing in the Engineering, Construction, and Equipment categories, including the construction of various facilities.
  • Equipment Procurement: Collaborate with category managers to acquire key production equipment. This involves preparing bidding lists, leading tender processes, and negotiating contracts.
  • Expert Assistance: Support in implementing best sourcing practices and governance principles for significant projects.
  • Sourcing Strategy Development: Create and execute sourcing strategies for production equipment and manage supplier relationships.
  • Best Practices Promotion: Establish and advocate for best practices during project implementation phases.
  • Independent Project Work: Operate independently within project teams across various categories and a matrix organization.
  • Business Partner Engagement: Develop strong internal relationships to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance sourcing value. Provide guidance and support in sourcing processes.

IHR PROFIL

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Business Studies, Business Engineering, or equivalent extensive professional experience, with strong knowledge of project management processes.
  • Several years of experience in contracting, sourcing, or purchasing in international markets.
  • Strong project management skills for complex investment projects and good knowledge of the technical equipment and/or plant engineering market.
  • Solid expertise in contract law, particularly in obligations law.
  • Global and intercultural experience, ability to work in cross-functional teams, and willingness to travel internationally for business.
  • Excellent communication, change management, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in multiple languages, with a strong emphasis on English. Additional language skills are a plus.
